La Notte della Taranta (The Night of the Tarantula)
is the largest festival in Italy and one of the most significant events showcasing popular culture in Europe. It takes place in Salento and focuses on the rediscovery and promotion of traditional Salento music, as well as its fusion with other genres such as world music, rock, jazz, and symphonic music.
The first Night of the Taranta Festival was held in 1998 and is characterized by a series of musical stages in different locations throughout Salento, culminating in the famous Concertone di Melpignano.
This year’s tour will take place from August 1st to August 26th, with the italian singer Fiorella Mannoia serving as the Maestra Concertatrice.
